About Murphee
Hi, I’m Murphee!
I’m an actor and filmmaker from Birmingham who’s passionate about helping actors feel confident, creative, and excited about their craft. I know first-hand how weird and wonderful this industry can be! I’ve been on both sides of the camera, both in front of casting directors and behind the scenes.
As a Filmmaker
My short film The Roaring won a Royal Television Society Award and was showcased at festivals including Underwire and Aesthetica. Headspace screened at Manchester Film Festival, Shiny, and Neurospicy 2025. I was recently chosen for the BFI New Directors Scheme 2024 and my latest film project is currently in development, having just made the finals of the Slick Film Fund 2025 !
As an Actor
I trained at East 15 Acting School and most recently appeared as a Guest Lead on BBC Doctors (2024). On stage, I’ve performed at VAULT Festival, Golden Goose, The Space, The Crescent, Questors and my latest play Skin Shedder (2024) is being produced with Blindspot Theatre.

Because I’m still very much in the thick of my own career, I understand the challenges actors face right now. From prepping a killer self-tape to keeping your confidence up between auditions. My sessions are designed to give you practical tools, industry insight, and a safe space to explore your creativity. Hello! I'm from Brum and now based in leafy Essex. Alongside my own work as an actor (Guest Lead on BBC Doctors), I’m also an award-winning filmmaker & writer, with films screened at BAFTA-affiliated festivals, selected for the BFI New Directors Scheme 2024, and as a Slick finalist 2025.
My background as an East 15 Acting School graduate and my ongoing creative work in the industry mean I bring real, on-the-ground experience to my coaching.
I specialise in audition preparation, self-tape coaching, career mentoring, and drama school audition coaching. Whether you’re preparing for your first audition, sharpening your screen skills, or seeking guidance on navigating the industry - from finding an agent to shaping your Spotlight profile - I tailor each session to your individual needs.
My ethos is simple! Every actor has their own unique voice and story to tell. My job is to help you unlock that. To create a safe, supportive space where you can explore, take risks, and connect truthfully to the material. I will help you discover the choices that make your work authentic and most importantly, about YOU!
I coach actors online via Zoom (working with clients across the UK and internationally) as well as in person when possible.
