About Sheena

Hello! I'm Sheena Tarrant, a dedicated educator with a First-class Honours in Chemistry and Biology with Concurrent Teaching Education from the University of Limerick. Over the years, I've had the privilege of imparting knowledge in reputable institutions like St Louis High School in Dublin, where I specialized in Leaving Cert Cycle subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, and Maths. My teaching journey also took me to Waterford College of Further Education, where I lectured Anatomy and Physiology to Nursing students.

My unique strength lies in my diverse teaching experiences. From lecturing Anatomy to secondary school teaching, and even beyond the traditional classroom - like Violin instruction and swimming coaching - I've honed a pedagogy that resonates with learners across different spectrums. This versatility makes me an adept educator in Biology, Chemistry, Science, and Maths across various levels of the Irish education system.

But what sets me apart? It's my innovative approach. I integrate Inquiry-based laboratory techniques, metacognitive questioning, and advanced laboratory practicals and simulations. These methods foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking in students. By applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and differentiated assessments, I ensure inclusivity, catering to students of all abilities, boosting their confidence and self-belief.

While I'm passionate about subjects like Biology and Chemistry, I'm equally invested in developing a scientific mindset in my students. My year in Amsterdam, filled with cultural experiences and eclectic activities, reaffirmed the importance of inclusivity, empowerment, and compassion in education, values that are deeply embedded in my teaching ethos.

If you're seeking an educator who combines expertise with innovation, and compassion with commitment, I'm the right fit for your learning journey. Let's embark on a path of curiosity, understanding, and growth.
