About Kening
Hi, I’m Karen Hu. I'm an international student who has studied at Tara Anglican School for Girls in Australia since year 9 and achieved an ATAR of 98.95 as an HSC all-rounder. I am a native Mandarin speaker and a JLPT N2 qualified Japanese learner, currently studying a Bachelor of Advanced Computing and a Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) at the University of Sydney. I have experience tutoring students for K-12 Math and I hold a Working With Children Check (WWCC). I offer lessons in Sydney or online, depending on what suits you best. Location can be negotiated.

My lessons are typically 1–2 hours and are tailored to each student’s personal profile, goals, and current level.
I’m professional, patient, and well-prepared. My teaching content combines what you want to learn and what best suits the learning objectives for your current year level or course.
I focus on clear explanations, structured lessons, and building confidence step by step. Instead of just answering the questions, I strive to teach students how to understand the intention behind each question, the logic of Mathematical thinking and how to apply the logic to all kinds of situation. I believe the logic of thinking can be extended to every subject.
Each class is structured into three parts:
(1) questions + homework check,
(2) teaching prepared content with step-by-step explanations,
(3) guided practice questions to reinforce what we covered.
If time permits, I include extension questions to stretch high achievers and build confidence.
