About Maria
I am a design student at University, graduated from one of Miami's most competitive art schools. I have worked in collaboration with numerous artists creating installations and sculptures. I am classically trained with an emphasis on Russian academy style drawing and painting. I love to explore new mediums and have recently been working with digital art and filmmaking.

About the lesson

I base my classes on the interests of the students. First, I introduce the basic techniques per class, together we select a subject, work out the importance of composition and balance of an artwork. With each class, the theme will be surrounded by an art historical precedent, as it is important to consider work within its context. I let the students make decisions and express themselves, giving feedback and painting the same image with them. I believe the demonstration allows them to understand the steps of making a painting and guides them through the process.
