About Doris
Fluency is not about memorizing lists, but rather about learning how to listen to the rhythm of the language. I begin by offering a free trial lesson to assess your current level, which allows me to calibrate our pace correctly.
We will explore liaison and nasal sounds to help you achieve a natural accent that sounds authentic. My BA degree informs how I approach reading comprehension and conversational fluency for learners at every stage.
We can also prepare for the DELF or DALF exams if you are aiming for certification. Whether you are a hobbyist or a student, I will keep our work organized and focused on patterns. We will maintain this structure throughout your progression.

Modern languages became my primary focus during my university studies, eventually leading me toward a career as a professional translator. I hold a BA in Modern Languages and have spent 21 years applying my skills in classroom and private settings. My experience includes guiding 382 students through the complexities of French, from nasal sounds to advanced reading comprehension.
I find it particularly rewarding to support the multilingual student who is working on a third or fourth language. My methods are grounded in the same attention to detail required for high-level translation work. I maintain a calm and methodical teaching style that helps you avoid unnecessary frustration. I am fully prepared to help you reach your specific goals in French.
