About Baldan
I am an undergraduate architectural engineering student, with an international school education that can speak 3 languages fluently, that has previous tutoring experience, and patiently enjoys helping others understand and develop the skills they need to improve their abilities in mathematics.
I completed the IB diploma and have taken Higher Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry, giving me a good background in STEM subjects.
In addition to this, I usually have a very visual and unique approach to mathematics, especially because I regularly practice the arts as a part of my degree and hobbies, which makes it more accessible for me to reach students who may not be very confident from learning through equations and the conventional approaches in mathematics. Thus, I can easily use different ways to explain the same subject depending on how the student learns better.
In high school, a friend and I ran a club to teach young kids science, and I also participated in a tutoring group that helped tutor people in all subjects in the school.
I have taught all ages from very young kids, to older students about to finish their high school degree, and most have seemed to rather enjoy these sessions, reporting back positively!

In my opinion, the best approach to improving in maths and with concepts within maths is to develop a good understanding. To do this, I like to ask questions that will provoke the right sense of thinking and guide them towards the solution, as opposed to simply giving the answer; I also want help find a way that shows the student what the problems means rather than just helping them learn the methodology alone. My aim is to help develop the process and tools for the student to figure out what they need on their own, so that later on they can do this without the aid of additional classes if they get stuck. Where possible, I want to explain and help them understand the gaps in their knowledge of mathematics in a style that is suitable to the way the student is most comfortable learning.
I will take the time to gently and patiently explain every concept, to go throw difficult questions step by step, and to if necessary provide further resources to help the student achieve their desired level in maths, and do this in a way that they find most suited to them and their needs. I will take the time to understand how they learn best to create a comfortable environment where they can feel free to ask any question, even if they usually find it intimidating to do so (as some students might). I seek to be available via messaging should the student wish to reach out to me outside tutoring sessions, and will do my best to respond as soon as possible. If need be, prices may be modified.
Maths, in my belief, is accessible to any and every student- it is just a matter of finding a way in which they can access it, and with the right teacher, they can learn how to do so in a supportive and comforting environment.
Hours are flexible; I am available any day of the week, and over holiday periods as well.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, classes are offered online. This may be subject to change in the future.

I had Baldan tutor me for roughly half a year with a subject I was struggling with. The tutoring hours were really relaxed and helpful, given that Baldan was really patient and would explain the same concept multiple times if needed without getting "frustrated". I had the feeling that no question was too dumb to ask which greatly improved my learning process. Overall I would definitely recommend Baldan to anyone seeking extra assistance.
