About Joe
My name is Joe, and I am an applied mathematics PhD student with a strong academic background and a genuine enjoyment for teaching. I have over eight years of experience tutoring math alongside teaching piano to students of all ages. I have helped many students at secondary and university level build confidence, improve results, and develop a clear understanding of math, and I am patient, reliable, and well prepared for every lesson, taking the time to adapt my teaching to each student so they feel comfortable asking questions and making steady progress.

Lessons are usually 60 minutes, either one-on-one or in a group, and tailored to the student’s level and goals. My teaching focuses on understanding rather than memorising steps, which in my experience has consistently led to better results. I explain ideas clearly, break problems down carefully, and show students why methods work so they can apply them confidently in exams.
