About Laura
I’m an academic writing tutor with a master’s degree from Paris-Sorbonne University and over ten years of experience supporting students with essays and dissertations.
I work with undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those pursuing MA and MSc degrees, to develop clear, well-structured and convincing academic writing. Whether you’re learning how to build an essay or refining a complex dissertation, I adapt my support to your experience, goals and course requirements.
Having completed my own dissertation, I understand the challenge of turning research and ideas into a coherent argument. I offer patient guidance and detailed, constructive feedback to help you strengthen your work and become a more confident, independent writer.

Unsure how to start an essay, organise your research or take an already strong draft further?
I offer personalised support for essays and dissertations at undergraduate and master’s level. The starting point is your work: what you want to achieve, where you feel stuck and what your assignment requires.
Depending on your needs, lessons and detailed feedback can help you:
• Understand the assignment and develop a focused plan;
• Structure paragraphs and chapters around a clear argument;
• Move beyond description towards critical analysis;
• Evaluate and bring together sources in a literature review;
• Connect your findings and conclusions to your research question;
• Improve clarity, flow and academic style;
• Respond to tutor or supervisor feedback and use your marking criteria to guide revision.
If you’re developing your academic writing skills, I explain the principles step by step and provide practical methods you can reuse. If you already have a well-developed draft and are aiming for top marks, I focus on the finer points of your argument, the depth of your analysis and the precision of your expression.
Through one-to-one lessons and detailed written feedback, I help you strengthen your work at any stage, from planning your first outline to refining your final draft.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your project, your academic goals and how I can support you in producing your best work.

Very funny and friendly!
I recommend Laura 100%, even for people just starting out.Laura possesses the qualities one associates with teaching or mentoring. As a young professional building her career, other team members sought her out to help them understand their assigned tasks, for help with projects, as well as advice on everyday situations. This remained true when she supervised other employees in the work environment, as she was a team leader responsible for carrying out detailed projects that required the cooperation and consensus of her team members. While in New York, she volunteered with blind adults who looked to her for help in managing their daily affairs. They saw her as someone who genuinely cared about them, from the consternation they expressed when she was about to leave New York.
Laura, who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Mississippi, moved to France in 2015 after a successful professional career in the United States. At that time, she courageously chose to follow her passion for artistic creation by reorienting herself towards art and archaeology studies at Sorbonne University.
I can also testify to the qualities of this teacher, who is a hard-working, active, dynamic and brilliant student. In my seminars and in our more personal relationships around her research, Laura has been proactive and extremely open. Last but not least, her career as a whole demonstrates her ability to adapt to different socio-professional, linguistic and intellectual contexts.View more recommendations
