About Abdullahi
Hello, my name is Abdullahi, and I am a dedicated and approachable tutor who is passionate about helping students build confidence and succeed in their studies. I understand that learning can sometimes feel challenging or overwhelming, especially when concepts are not explained in a way that makes sense. My goal as a tutor is to make learning clear, structured, and manageable, so students feel supported and capable at every stage.
I have experience working with children and young people in educational settings, including supporting students in a tuition environment and volunteering in a library. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. I take my responsibilities seriously and always aim to create a calm, respectful, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others understand things they once found difficult. Seeing a student’s confidence grow as they improve is what motivates me most. I believe that with the right guidance, clear explanations, and consistent practice, every student can make progress.
I am professional, reliable, and well-prepared for each lesson. I tailor my sessions to each student’s goals, whether that is strengthening foundations, improving grades, or preparing for exams. My aim is not just to help students perform better academically, but to help them believe in their own ability to succeed.
I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey and helping you achieve your full potential.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and focused on building confidence, understanding, and independence. I begin by identifying a student’s current level, strengths, and areas for improvement, and then tailor each lesson to their individual needs and learning style. I prioritise clear explanations, breaking complex ideas into manageable steps, and regularly checking understanding through questions and worked examples. I encourage active participation so students are engaged and able to apply what they learn independently.
My lessons are structured but flexible. A typical session includes a short recap of previous work, introduction of new content, guided practice, and independent questions with clear feedback. For GCSE students, I place strong emphasis on exam technique, using past paper questions and mark schemes to show what examiners are looking for and how to secure marks effectively. I also support students with revision strategies and problem-solving skills rather than rote memorisation.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I also can teach for up to 2 hours, which allows time for explanation, practice, and feedback without overwhelming the student. I am flexible and can offer shorter sessions for younger learners if needed.
I have experience working with young learners through tutoring and educational support roles, including assisting children in a tuition setting. These experiences have helped me develop patience, adaptability, and the ability to explain concepts clearly to students of different abilities. I have a strong academic background at primary and GCSE level and am familiar with UK exam boards and specifications.
My lessons are aimed at primary and GCSE students, typically aged 5–16. I adapt my teaching style to suit the age and ability of each student, using engaging and supportive methods for younger learners and a more structured, exam-focused approach for GCSE students. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve understanding, and make consistent progress.
