About Tyler
Hello,
My name is Tyler. I am 25 years old and reside in Buckhurst Hill.
I work as a learning support assistant full time in mainstream 16-18 education at NCC college. I have worked within the education sector for 4 years. My working week is often spent supporting within maths & English GCSE resit classes or entry level functional skills groups.
The rest of my time is spent supporting/ teaching in L1/L2 sports classes and within sports enrichment, hosting social workshops for students.
I work 1 to 1 daily with students of varying levels of additional learning needs. I possess comprehensive knowledge and experience teaching those who might require altered and tailored teaching methods.
I am easy going, relaxed and patient within my teaching. I strive to be a catalyst towards young peoples successes and to have a positive impact on peoples lives.
Despite the educational system embedding maths and English into generic curriculum requirements, I believe many flourish in other aspects of life. Receiving an extra bit of help in these areas of "weakness" can overcome any academic plateaus preventing them from perusing their passions. I believe in acknowledging a young persons individual strengths and not demonising weaknesses. Working on the young persons mindset and building a positive rapport is paramount to my teaching. Developing a healthy relationship towards learning is a ethos I hold.
I am currently studying a foundation degree in education and training and I will become a fully qualified teacher in the end of 2023. I am new to "officially" tutoring (reflective in my rate) although my 1 to 1 experience within the classroom will resonate throughout the sessions.
