About Wong
I believe my academic background and personal journey make me well-suited to tutoring. I achieved three A* grades in A level Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics, and I currently hold an unconditional offer to study Physics at Imperial College London in 2026. These results reflect both my strong subject knowledge and my ability to approach problems with persistence and rigour. Importantly, I was not always naturally strong at mathematics. In primary school, I often struggled with the subject, but through consistent effort and determination I was able to overcome those difficulties. This experience gives me a genuine understanding of how frustrating maths can feel at times, and it allows me to relate to students who may lack confidence in the subject. I also have experience supporting people who found abstract concepts in mathematics and physics difficult to grasp. Through this, I have developed the ability to break down complex ideas into clear, accessible steps, while adapting my explanations to different learning styles. I believe these strengths—subject expertise, resilience from overcoming my own challenges, and the ability to explain concepts patiently and clearly—equip me to be an empathetic and effective tutor.

My tutoring approach focuses on building understanding and confidence. I break complex concepts into clear, intuitive steps, combining explanations with worked examples and practice problems. Lessons typically structured to review previous material, teach new topics, and reinforce learning through exercises and feedback. I tutor GCSE and A level students in Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics, helping them strengthen problem-solving skills and master challenging concepts.
