About Mustafa
My name is Mustafa Furat Hussain, and I’m a specialist mathematics teacher with over 16 years of experience in helping students not only improve, but transform, their understanding of mathematics. I’ve taught across a wide range of schools throughout London, Kent, Hampshire, and even internationally, always with one goal in mind: unlocking mathematical confidence in every student I teach. I hold a Mathematics Degree, a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and a Master’s-level qualification in Understanding Mathematics. I’ve also served as: • Head of Mathematics • Lead Practitioner in Mathematics • GCSE Examiner • And I’m currently a Director of Learning in Mathematics What I Teach • GCSE Mathematics (Higher & Foundation) – All exam boards • A-Level Mathematics – Core, Pure, Applied, and more • Specialist Focus Areas: Algebra, Rearranging Formulae, Geometry, Trigonometry, Data, Calculus, and more Through online-only lessons, I guide students through fun, focused, and highly effective learning journeys. I use a writing tablet, visualisers, exam-style papers, and resources I’ve personally developed, including those built through MathGenie, to create highly interactive and stimulating sessions. My Philosophy Mathematics isn’t just a subject — it’s a way of thinking, a method of discovery, and the only discipline that truly builds pure logical reasoning. I treat maths as an art, and I teach it in a way that makes every topic feel beautiful, purposeful, and deeply rewarding. Whether it’s algebraic manipulation, sine and cosine rule, or A-Level calculus, I break concepts down in ways that make students feel empowered, not overwhelmed. My goal is always to make maths feel natural and enjoyable, especially for those who’ve struggled with it in the past. I believe that every student deserves to understand the why, not just the how. And once the right skills are in place, students experience a true sense of accomplishment, the kind that only mathematics can offer. Proven Results Over the years, I’ve helped: • Students predicted a grade 4 go on to achieve grade 7s • Learners at grade 2 rise to grade 6s and 7s • Students who previously hated maths begin to love it These transformations happen because I focus on building the right foundations, not short-term tricks. My lessons are tailored to each student, using weekly assessments, ongoing progress tracking, and dynamic adjustments to suit their needs. Many of my students say that one or two sessions with me taught them more than weeks of school lessons.
