About Sonal
I am an ACCA-qualified Business Studies and Economics tutor with over 20 years of professional experience across Big 4 consulting, global banking. I've also had experience teaching undergraduates in Business Studies and Foundational Accounting.
I specialise in GCSE, A Level and undergraduate levels in Business Studies, Economics and Accounting with a strong focus on exam technique, structured answers, application, analysis and evaluation.
The teaching methodology will be based on your course content and your objectives. My aim is primarily to help you achieve your desired grades and outcomes with the concepts and application of that knowledge, when answering questions
I love sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. As a lifelong learner, I am deeply passionate about exploring new ideas and concepts in the academic and business worlds.
What makes my teaching approach unique is the combination of academic support, real-life business experience and strong professional discipline. I bring over 20 years of experience from the business and finance world into my lessons, helping students connect theory with real-world examples while developing a structured, focused and confident approach to learning.
As a parent of near teenagers, I also understand the pressure that younger students can feel during exam periods. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, discussing difficulties and building confidence step by step. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students feel supported, understood and better prepared for exam success.

What to Expect in the First Lesson
Introductions and Background
We will begin by getting to know each other and understanding the student’s academic journey so far, including current subjects, exam board, confidence levels and any areas of concern.
Informal Assessment
I will carry out an informal assessment to identify strengths, gaps and areas for improvement. This helps me tailor future lessons to the student’s needs.
Review of Previous Work
Where available, we will look at previous assignments, classwork, tests or exam-style answers to pinpoint key areas for growth.
Goal Setting
Together, we will agree clear academic goals, whether that is improving confidence, strengthening exam technique, moving up a grade, or preparing for upcoming assessments.
Learning Plan Development
I will create a structured and personalised learning plan to support steady progress, with lessons focused on both subject understanding and exam success.
Other Information:
I teach GCSE, A Level and Undergraduate levels in Business Studies, Economics and Accounting.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although this can be extended where required. I also teach students who are currently home-schooled.
My teaching style is supportive, structured and focused on results. I work as a learning partner, helping each student understand how they learn best and what steps are needed to reach their goals.
I believe every student should be encouraged to aim high. There should be no glass ceiling on progress, and no student should feel limited in what they can achieve with the right guidance and effort.
