My approach is built on the belief that students don’t struggle with subjects, they struggle with how the subjects are presented. I move away from lecture-style teaching and toward active mentorship. I don’t just share knowledge. I’ll give you the tools to find it yourself. I utilize a blended pedagogical strategy designed for long-term retention. This includes the Feynman Technique, Scaffolded Learning, and Interleaved Practice. My lesson plans will include:
1. A quick low-stakes quiz or discussion on the previous lesson to activate your memory.
2. Interactive introduction of the new concept using visual aids and real-life case studies.
3. We solve the high-level problem together, focusing on why we take each step.
4. You tackle a challenge solo while I observe and provide real-time feedback.
5. Summarizing the big wins of the day and setting a clear goal for next time.
What sets me apart is most tutors focus on the what in the curriculum and I focus on the how and why in the curriculum. I provide a high level of empathy and patience, but I also hold you to a high standard of academic rigor. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all textbook. I create custom worksheets and digital resources tailored specifically to your learning style. I draw on my recollection to show you how these concepts actually work outside of the classroom.
