About Nikhil
I am a First-Class Economics graduate from Queen Mary University of London and achieved an A* in A-Level Economics myself.
Alongside my degree, I spent three years tutoring A-Level Economics privately, at times teaching around 25 hours each week. I have also worked as a J.P. Morgan Summer Analyst and as a Sales Analyst at leading financial technology firm LMAX Group, giving me practical insight into how Economics connects to the real world.
I specialise in helping students make difficult Economics understandable and then convert that understanding into marks in the exam. I have supported students across AQA and Edexcel A, including those who needed to rebuild confidence, improve essay structure, or strengthen their application, analysis and evaluation.
Written testimonials:
Morgan, AQA Economics student - C to A
“Nikhil focused on exactly that, helping me structure answers properly and approach exam questions with much more confidence.”
Jack, Edexcel A Economics student - predicted D to A
“His explanations were always clear, structured and easy to understand, even for the more difficult topics.”
Anna, parent of A-Level Economics student - D to A
“He has a brilliant way of explaining difficult concepts clearly, building confidence and making sure everything is properly understood rather than simply learnt for an exam.”
Amir, Edexcel A Economics student - C to A
“He also taught the A* techniques and exam skills needed to achieve the highest marks, from structuring high-scoring essays to applying evaluation effectively.”

My one-to-one online lessons are for A-Level Economics students studying AQA or Edexcel A, in either Year 12 or Year 13.
Every student starts from a different point, so lessons are tailored to what will make the greatest difference for them. This may mean strengthening content knowledge, improving confidence with data-response questions, developing essay structure, or refining evaluation for higher-mark questions.
I cover the full A-Level Economics specification, including:
The economic problem, scarcity, choice and economic methodology
Demand, supply, price determination and elasticity
Consumer behaviour and behavioural economics
Production, costs, revenue, profit and business objectives
Market structures, competition and monopoly
Labour markets, wages, poverty and inequality
Market failure, externalities, public goods and government intervention
Economic growth, the economic cycle and productivity
Inflation, unemployment and the balance of payments
Aggregate demand, aggregate supply and macroeconomic equilibrium
Fiscal, monetary and supply-side policy
Financial markets, banking, interest rates and the role of central banks
International trade, globalisation, exchange rates and competitiveness
Development and emerging economies
Lessons combine clear explanation with active exam practice. We will work through past-paper and exam-style questions, build stronger chains of analysis, improve application to the context provided, and develop balanced evaluation.
I do not believe students should simply memorise model answers. The goal is to help them properly understand the Economics, handle unfamiliar questions and write confidently under exam conditions.
Lessons are one hour, delivered online, and can be structured around ongoing weekly support, mock-exam preparation, a particular topic, or intensive revision ahead of final exams. The topic coverage aligns with the current AQA and Pearson Edexcel A-Level specifications.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
I came across Nikhil midway during year 12 where I was working at a grade C, struggling with economics. Shortly after we started lessons together, I saw genuine improvements in my grade. He targeted my weak areas thoroughly and ultimately contributed to me achieving a grade A in my final A Level Economics exams.
As a recent student of Nikhil’s, I genuinely can’t recommend him enough. He single-handedly helped take my Economics grade from a C to an A. His teaching gave me everything I needed as an Economics student, but what made the biggest difference was the way he taught exam technique. Nikhil completely changed the way I approached exam questions and papers, helping me understand exactly what examiners were looking for and how to structure my answers effectively.
Having experienced his teaching first-hand, I have no doubt that he will be incredibly valuable for students who are struggling, feeling stuck, or simply don’t know what they need to do to improve. I’m incredibly grateful for all his help and guidance and couldn’t recommend him enough!A chill and competent guy. I recommend him
