About Maria
I have been working for my university's tutoring center for 4 semesters, and have had a lot of training in teaching, tutoring, and child care. My coursework is not solely math, but also consists of a large amount of education courses and sciences like chemistry and physics. I have been working in an education setting for a very long time, and am aware I am here for your benefit!

My classes are for any age level who needs help with math. I have taken courses in how to teach elementary level math, and have lectured college calculus courses. I encourage student participation. Typical lessons are not just me talking at the student, but rather we will work together to establish a strong understanding of the content. I usually like to start with an example where I explain the process of a problem, then we try one together, and then the student can try on their own. My goal is to help make math less daunting!
