About Harry
I'm currently finishing up my Baccalaureate Degree this year and this will be concluding the 4 years of my studies in Classical Civilisation between the University of Leeds and Monash University, Melbourne. My areas of expertise are predominantly Greek History with specialities in tragic literature and epic, but I've dipped into pretty much most texts in popular classical antiquity that would be relevant for GCE/A Level and University study and also have experience with Egyptian, Hellinistic, Assyria and Persian areas. I'll be going on to get my PGCE teaching qualifications between 2020-21, and then move into classroom work on a more regular basis!

For Classics rather than pursuing a holistic approach to the subject I prefer to centre my lessons specifically around the texts my students are working with and feel they need a bit more polish on. We can focus on close-reading approaches for essay planning and ability as well as go over introductory/deep dive lessons on societal context and history if we think thats where your marks could benefit from. We'd talk about what areas you need help on in advance and I can structure each class accordingly. I'm also happy to look over some past papers and essay drafts on my own time to get a feel for how we could improve your style.
Classic Civilisation has been one of the most vibrantly insightful influences in my growth as a person, yet I know all too well how inaccessible literature from over 2 Millenia ago can seem - I want to ignite a genuine passion for what this subject can mean to people, and let that speak for itself in your abilities and score improvement.
