About Reshma
I am currently a 3rd-year undergraduate Occupational Therapy student with experience working with children through clinical practice. This includes interacting with and supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other developmental needs.
Through my internships thus far, I have developed strong skills in patience, communication, and adapting activities to suit each child’s learning style and pace. I am passionate about supporting children’s growth and helping them build confidence in their learning.
I am responsible, approachable, and committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment for every child. As a tutor, I strive to make lessons engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s needs.

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and tailored to each child’s learning pace/needs. I believe that building a positive and encouraging learning environment helps one feel more confident and motivated to learn. I aim to make lessons engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate, especially for younger learners in their early academic years.
In terms of teaching methodology, I will use simple explanations, visual aids, repetition, and hands-on activities to help children better understand concepts. I also incorporate strategies such as breaking tasks into smaller, manageable steps, providing positive reinforcement, and adapting my teaching style based on the child’s strengths and challenges. Drawing from my Occupational Therapy training, I pay specific attention to each child’s attention span to better support learning.
A typical lesson would last 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the child’s needs and parents’ preferences. Lessons may include homework guidance, reading practice, basic literacy or numeracy skills, and revision of school materials. I also ensure there are short breaks when needed to help children stay focused and engaged.
My lessons are suitable for Kindergarten 1 (K1) to Primary 2 (P2) students, typically between 4 to 8 years old. I am happy to support children with homework, foundational reading and writing skills, basic mathematics, and building confidence in learning.
While I am new to formal tutoring, I aim to bring strong communication skills, patience, and a structured approach to helping individuals learn.
