About Joseph
I have my Bachelors in Biology from UAFS where I graduated with honors. I also conducted my own capstone research project looking at how tardigrade species H.dujardini respond to varies levels of acidity, basicity, and salinity. After graduation, I worked 2 years in a microbiological testing lab where I honed microbiological skills such as petrifilm plating, quadrant streaking, gram staining, and other methods as well as using advanced instruments such as ROKA, Vidas, and PCR to detect the presence of pathogens. I returned to academia in Fall 2020 to obtain my M.S. in Biology at UCA and also have been working at a Medical Cannabis Lab part time. Next semester, I will be doing research with non-structural carbohydrates in Birch and Oak tree specimens. I am graduating with my Master’s in Spring 2022.
