Hi! I’m a 2nd year Civil Engineering student at the University of Manchester with a passion for helping students understand STEM subjects. I specialise in Maths, Physics, Statistics and Mechanics.

About Amna
I know firsthand that struggling in school does not mean that you are not capable of success.
Growing up, I found certain teaching styles to be difficult to learn from, and it made STEM subjects feel much harder than they needed to be. Over time, I realised that success is often about having the right teacher, not being the perfect student.
Once I found a teacher that helped me fundamentally understand, my confidence and grades improved massively, leading me from a school where success was marginal, to then study Civil Engineering at one of the UK’s top universities.
One thing I’ve learned is that you do not need to have a natural gift or be insanely smart to achieve your goals. Strong results come from dedication and truly understanding concepts rather than memorising methods.
My goal is to help students build that understanding and hopefully be that teacher for them. I want more students to think confidently for themselves, and realise that they are far more capable than they think.

I adapt to each student rather than have them adapt to me.
My lessons focus on building understanding and confidence through support. I encourage talking through questions and learning “why” rather than relying on methods as this approach to learning remains with the student. Application is very important to my teaching method, having the student understand through their own terminology.
I have tutored for 3 years informally through leadership roles throughout my education before starting my degree. Lessons are one hour long and available for students from GCSE to A-level.
