About Sariah
I am a dedicated math tutor with experience supporting students through student teaching, substitute teaching across multiple school districts, and tutoring. I specialize in helping elementary and middle school students, up through 8th grade, build confidence and strengthen their understanding of math concepts. My focus is on making math clear, approachable, and engaging so students feel successful at every step.
I take a patient and supportive approach to teaching, breaking down concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations and using visual models and real-world examples when needed. I adapt my instruction to meet each student’s individual learning style and pace, ensuring they fully understand the material before moving forward.
What sets me apart is my ability to create a positive and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I prioritize building confidence just as much as building skills, helping students develop both understanding and independence in math.
My goal is to support students in not only improving their math skills, but also developing the confidence and mindset needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

My approach as a tutor is to make math clear, manageable, and confidence-building for every student. I focus on breaking down concepts step-by-step so students can truly understand the “why” behind what they are learning, rather than just memorizing procedures. I use a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent practice, while adjusting my teaching in real time based on each student’s needs and responses.
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up to review prior knowledge and build confidence. I then introduce the main concept with clear explanations and examples, often using visual models or real-life connections to make the material more understandable. Next, we work through problems together, followed by independent practice where the student applies the skill with support. I end each session with a quick review or check for understanding to ensure the student feels confident moving forward.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to build strong, positive relationships with students while maintaining structure and clear expectations. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which helps them stay engaged and motivated. I also have experience working with a wide range of learners through student teaching, substitute teaching across multiple districts, and tutoring, which allows me to adapt quickly to different learning styles and skill levels.
