I am a professional VCE maths tutor specialising in Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics and General Mathematics, with over 7 years of tutoring experience and 4 years of experience specifically supporting VCE students across Years 10–12.

1. Which year levels do you mainly support?
Mainly Year 10 (Accelerated VCE), Year 11 and Year 12 students.

2. Where are face-to-face lessons available?
Face-to-face lessons are available in Rowville and surrounding Knox/Monash areas, generally within a 15–20 minute driving distance, including Wantirna South, Scoresby, Mulgrave, Wheelers Hill and nearby suburbs.

3. Which platform and tools do you use for online lessons?
Online lessons are typically conducted through Zoom or Microsoft Teams, using screen sharing and interactive teaching tools such as Mural, Desmos and digital whiteboards to support clear explanation and discussion.

4. How long is a typical lesson?
Most lessons are between 60–120 minutes depending on the student’s level, focus and concentration span. Some students work better with shorter sessions, while others benefit from longer and more intensive lessons.

5. What usually happens during lessons?
Lessons may include concept revision, SAC preparation, reviewing schoolwork, VCE-style questions, exam strategies and identifying common VCE mistakes.
The lesson structure is adjusted depending on the student’s current stage and goals. For example, closer to SACs and exams, lessons usually become much more focused on exam-style application, revision and problem-solving under exam conditions.

6. How interactive are the lessons?
Lessons are highly interactive throughout. This includes frequent discussion and questioning, short practice tasks during lessons, guided problem solving and student summaries near the end of the session to reinforce understanding.

7. Do you provide homework or revision materials?
Where appropriate, students may receive handouts (including revision notes, concept summaries, problem-solving strategies and exam skills guidance), homework and selected practice questions.

8. Can students receive help between lessons?
Yes — I encourage students to send through questions between lessons where appropriate. Within reasonable limits, I will do my best to respond as soon as possible, as this can often be very helpful for maintaining progress and preventing confusion from building up.

9. How often should students have lessons?
For most VCE students, weekly lessons are recommended for consistent progress and revision. During school holidays or closer to SACs and exams, additional sessions can also be arranged where appropriate, provided the student’s energy and workload remain manageable.

10. What happens if a lesson needs to be rescheduled?
Rescheduling is generally no problem with at least 24 hours’ notice. In line with platform policy, lessons cancelled within 24 hours may incur a 50% cancellation fee.

12. Can students improve in a relatively short period of time?
In many cases, yes. Once key weak areas and missing links between concepts are identified, students often become more organised, efficient and confident within a relatively short period of time. However, long-term improvement still depends on consistent effort and practice.

Perfect! Henry is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and explains concepts in a way that is easy for my son to understand. He teaches new ways to look and answer questions and provides tricks to overcome hard math equations. The lessons are well organised and tailored to suit my son's level and learning needs.

Areas for Improvement
Some of the earlier foundational concepts in Mathematical Methods could be strengthened further. With consistent revision and practice, this will help her approach more complex questions with greater confidence.

Great maths tutor. Very clear explanations and very patient with students.
Henry has been helping my daughter with maths and we’ve been very happy with the support he provides.
