About Tone
I am a Registered Nurse with over 5 years of experience working in a high acuity Emergency Room, along with more than 23 years working in EMS as an EMT-Specialist or A-EMT. I also completed a 4-month rotation in an intense CTICU rotation environment, which strengthened my understanding of critical care concepts and team-based decision making. I enjoy helping nursing and EMS students improve clinical thinking and reasoning, exam strategy, and confidence when approaching challenging medical questions. My focus is on explaining how to think through scenarios clearly and efficiently, using real-world context while staying aligned with exam expectations. I am currently preparing for my Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) exam and plan to pursue my CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) immediately afterwards. With me studying for these exams, it keeps me closely connected to current exam content and studying strategies. I look forward to working with students who want to strengthen their reasoning and approach exams with more confidence.

My lessons are focused on understanding clinical reasoning and exam question strategy, not note memorization. I work with nursing and EMS students to break down practice questions, identify common patterns and develop a consistent approach to eliminating incorrect answers. Sessions are structured around the student's goals and current challenges. We typically review practice questions together, discuss the reasoning behind the correct and incorrect options, and focus on how exams are written rather than trying to cover every possible topic. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students can ask questions freely and build confidence in their thinking process. Lessons are for educational and exam preparation purposes only and are meant to complement --- not replace-- formal coursework, textbooks, or clinical instruction. Students are encouraged to verify material with their program resources and instructors.
